Our client contacted us ready to finish their complete home renovation. They planned to remodel the remaining antiquated rooms in their home located in The Cat Mountain Villas, just north of Mount Bonnell. She was eager to share her amazing ideas with our in-house design team. Her plan was quite specific. She envisioned that each room would have a particular color theme. Furthermore, each room should make a statement in regards to style while spotlighting unique decor.
Like the vast majority of our clients, she was not remodeling a house for resale. She was transforming her house into her dream home. Undoubtedly, she and her husband work hard to enjoy life. And above all, they deserve it.
Occasionally, she allows her husband of many years, a distinguished professor at St. Edwards University, to make some decisions. Nonetheless, make no mistake about it. This project, fueled by her inspiration, is her baby!
The layout of the master bath had many awkward angles and a ton of wasted space. A large cultured marble tub and step-up connected to a tiny shower elevated to tub height. Consequently, we sought to optimize the space while upgrading the features.
By redesigning the room, the homeowners gained closet, shower, and vanity space. We built a sizeable walk-in shower with frameless glass from floor to ceiling. Adjacently, we installed a large freestanding bathtub. Oil-rubbed brass faucets and fixtures complement the cream-colored walls, beige flooring, and the stone tiles surrounding the tub. Solid teak hardwood counters and custom faux-finished cabinets set the standard. And to spice things up, we decorated with some fun characters, like our friend the sea otter. Consequently, we have one happy client!
We also renovated the master bedroom. Fortunately, the original layout was great, but we needed to update a few features to bring the room to life. Our goal to accentuate the focal point involved remodeling the area room in front of the bed. Also, we wanted to create a warm and cozy place to escape. What makes the master suite so sweet is the built-in teak hardwood bookshelf and custom fireplace. The stunning custom-built bookshelf and cabinetry extends from floor to ceiling, compliment the stonework encasing the fireplace and television. The matching teak mantle above the fireplace ties it all together. The outcome is a comfortable and luxurious master bedroom.
The remodeled guest suite inspired by the gray-striped, hand-painted walls by master artisan, Peter Hausmann is a thing of beauty. Splashes of bright yellow, decorative butterflies mounted on the wall along with the added touch of tin ceilings are sure to satisfy even the most refined guest. The color theme expressed in the guest room extends to the adjacent guest bathroom with the gray-striped wall and bright yellow highlights.
Last, but not least we remodeled the guest bathroom with equal attention to detail. Unique design features include the eye-popping Italian Granite that wraps the shower walls in place of standard bathroom tiles. Similarly, the same Italian Granite spotlights the counters. Specialty-painted, distressed black cabinets, a black sink and plumbing features along with the oil-rubbed bronze fixtures offer a stunning aesthetic. Decorative pinstriped pendant lights hang on either side of the mirror. The smooth wall and ceiling texture created by using a small hand towel provides the finishing touch.
One of the most satisfying attributes of doing a complete home renovation is that we can showcase the homeowner’s distinct personality in each area of their home. Moreover, as you walk through our client’s house, you notice that the look of each room is well-defined. Not to mention, as a whole, their home demonstrates an elegant and personalized style that is sure to inspire family and friends for years to come.
