Note: This review was originally written in 2010 after New Creations remodeled our kitchen. We used this same company again in 2013 to remodel our master bathroom and had another positive experience.
New Creations is the Complete Package – Remodeling our kitchen and powder room was a big decision and a big investment.
We chose New Creations because they were friendly, low-pressure, and responsive from the start. We had several meetings with Roy, met all the contractors, heard their ideas, received an estimate, visited the showroom, and visited a kitchen they renovated before we even signed any agreement with them!
It was intimidating to choose all the elements for our new kitchen, but New Creations made it easy. They didn’t have a designer at the time, but Roy shared his experience and knowledge of emerging trends in the industry. It was helpful to see working models in the showroom and have large samples (2’ x 2’) of cabinet types and paint colors available. Taking my chosen samples home with me to move around the space and see at different times of the day with the changing natural light made the selection easier. And later, after the cabinets and counters were installed, when I began to doubt my wall paint selection, Troy cheerfully delivered all the neutral samples that I requested (perhaps 20 or more?) to view again.
Throughout, Troy did a wonderful job of choreographing the different contractors and communicating with us. In addition to regular email updates, we were able to log-in to see what activities were scheduled and read the communication with the contractors. With 2 full-time work schedules, a toddler, and a dog to plan around, it was very important that we knew what to expect each day.
All the contractors were respectful of our home and seemed to understand that we were still living there from demolition to completion. They kept the mess contained and tidied up before leaving each day. They were also very collaborative. We met with each contractor at least twice during the planning stages and communicated several times while the project was in full-swing. They answered all our questions, put us at ease, offered suggestions, and were responsive to any concerns that we had. Winston, James, Larry, Lisa, and Manuel (and their crews) are all very professional and friendly. They seemed very knowledgeable in their areas and as concerned as we were to create a space that would meet our family’s needs.
Roy prepared us in advance to expect hiccups so we weren’t completely surprised when some did occur. What was reassuring, however, was that someone from the team always responded to our phone calls (even when they were later in the evening!), they offered professional solutions, and never appeared to be put-out.
New Creations was thorough and honest. In our final walk through with Roy, he pointed out small imperfections that we hadn’t noticed and he identified a feature which we had paid for, but hadn’t received. He made sure that this was remedied within the week. In the end, it was another example of their attention to detail and pride in their work.
At first, we were surprised by the estimated costs to remodel our kitchen. But 8 months later (9 weeks of construction) - after seeing the amount of coordination, the number of professional individual contributors, and the quality of the materials involved - we are delighted with the results and feel that it was well worth the investment.Read More
New Creations Custom Kitchen Remodeling – The recent remodel of our kitchen was a refreshing experience. Roy Faust and his team are extremely talented and knowledgeable in their fields. Roy or his associate Luis communicated with us every step of the way, and even stopped by during construction phases. All of the men that were in our home were nothing but extremely respectful to myself (and all my questions, ) my two small children (who sat and watched the entire process,) and to my home. After the work was done, there were a few small tweaks that needed to be made. Although my husband and I had been completely impressed by the work ethic to that point, we were blown away that final payment would not be accepted until the kitchen was 100% finished, to our satisfaction. We love our kitchen, and will recommend New Creations to anyone who is interested in a kitchen remodel.Read More
I used New Creations for a kitchen remodel 2 years ago. Roy was great about helping me through the process of choosing granite and tiles to suit my style. He kept everything within my budget but always gave me options for upgrades if I wanted them.
His team was very professional and my home was always cleaned up at the end of the day. The job was finished in a timely manner and follow-up was excellent. I was so pleased that I have now signed on with New Creations to have my master bath updated.
My master bath remodel is now completed and once again New Creations came through and gave me the bath I've always dreamed of. Even though the remodel took place around the holidays, schedules were kept and there was minimal disruption of daily life. Roy and his team helped choose exactly the tile combinations I had in my mind and also gave me good suggestions on ways to compliment my choices. Tile work by Apollo and his assistant was wonderful, the vanities that Greg created are awesome and everything was done with little disturbance or mess. All the New Creations employees are professional, pleasant and easy to work with. Thanks again to New Creations for the bath they created for me!Read More
Highly Recommend this Kitchen Remodeler! – New Creations did a fantastic job remodeling my kitchen. We added granite, new plumbing, new dry wall with granite backsplash & a travertine backsplash. Roy gave me a very fair and competitive bid (I got several bids so I knew his was fair.) All of the workmen were courteous and respectful in my home. They were helpful and interested in my concerns/feedback on the job as it progressed. Roy returned all of my calls and made sure that I was completely happy with his product/service. If you want to make sure you have a quality job, great service and a fair price - call New Creations. I would definitely use them again!Read More
Anxiety-free Remodeling Experience – Due to some structural limitations, our kitchen cabinetry had to be custom built. We chose New Creations because of 1) their business process model and warranties, 2) their flexibility in working with both our design and budget constraints, and 3) their many rave and recent reviews.
Every member of the NC Team was professional, flexible, creative, and prompt in communicating and resolving questions or challenges. Additionally, as experienced remodelers (not new construction) they appreciate architectural style versus popular trends, can anticipate potential issues in existing homes, and, blessedly, they respect that we 'live' here.
My husband and I were exceedingly pleased with how easy the entire process was, unlike our prior contractor experiences. Working with Troy, Greg, et al, we were able to smoothly coordinate third party tradesman work into the schedule, including my husband and I doing some work ourselves. The most stressful point was deciding on a paint color!
We are very happy with how the finished kitchen looks and functions, and that it was completed by the target date. We would recommend Roy and New Creations without hesitation.Read More
Kitchen: Complete; Customer: Very Satisfied – We started looking at Kitchen remodeling companies during the summer (2009). Our challenge was to update a 16 year old kitchen with new cabinets, granite counter tops, and updated lighting. We also wanted to retexture of the downstairs “popcorn” ceiling. After visiting with several remodeling companies over the summer, we decided to go with Roy at New Creations. Why? Several reasons: we were impressed with the online feedback from the customers, website photos of past projects, a call to a past New Creations customer and Roy’s openness to answer the numerous questions with regards to his past remodeling jobs and overall business structure. But the one thing that really captured us before we signed the contract was the visit to the showroom and the discussion with Roy’s team. We could really feel the true commitment to us (the customer).
We just recently finished the kitchen (October 2009) with new custom cherry cabinets, under-cabinet lighting, tile back splash, and granite counters. The one common message from our family, friends and neighbors is “WOW! Is that the same kitchen?”
The kitchen looks like a photo straight out of a magazine – perfect and met all the requirements we set out to accomplish. Also, the removal of the “popcorn” ceiling makes the entire downstairs look like a different house.
Roy (owner), Trevor (on site manager), Apollo (tile), Greg (cabinets), Ray (ceiling and paint) and Troy (office manager) were extremely supportive through the always unforeseen surprises that come along with every remodeling job. The schedule from Troy was constantly updated and the overall team’s communication was outstanding. Roy and his team come highly recommended from our perspective.Read More
Best Kitchen/Bath Remodel in Austin – No need to look any further.
We hired Roy and New Creations in September to remodel our kitchen and bath. They were efficient, responsible, and professional, but most importantly...they did what they said they would do.
We were provided with a line item estimate and the final cost was not a penny more. Great attention was given to every detail while each and every one of our concerns were addressed along the way. They have a design center with hundreds of tiles, countertops, etc. to choose from with professional advice along the way. They will bring samples to your home so you can get an idea of what the finished product will look like.
At one point, we had received some back splash tile for the kitchen from a supplier that didn't quite line up right. Roy immediately removed the tile, re-ordered from the supplier, and re-installed it. That is the type of support I can live with. Please know that if anything is not done to your satisfaction, New Creations will do it over until you are satisfied.
Attention is given to every detail of the project.
One other feature New Creations provides is a calendar of events for your project. You can log on to their website and see what work is scheduled for each day.
We would certainly hire them again and probably will for some other remodeling projects we have planned.
Bottom line here is New Creations will do it right. They will not nickel and dime you to death like some contractors and you will have peace of mind knowing your finished product be exactly as you envisioned it.Read More
Best Contractor Experience Ever! – Our kitchen was every bit the quintessential galley model from the 1980s—skinny, appliance doors bumping cabinet doors, and finished with wood laminate running across the countertops, backsplash, and even surrounding the yellow-plastic-encased fluorescent light fixture. The builder even added a wall to divide it from the living and formal dining area, complete with a tiny square window so the tired cook would watch the 5 o’clock news while she heated up TV dinners in her faux wood prison. Obviously, I had major issues with my kitchen.
My husband and I overhauled our house, and no matter what we did, we were stumped when it came to the kitchen. We had a few ideas, none of them terribly concrete—but that didn’t stop us from interviewing a string of contractors who were clearly frustrated with our lack of vision. That was where Roy and his team shined from the beginning—our openness didn’t frustrate him, it got him excited. He worked with us for over a month, taking our vague clues (i.e.”You see the shelf in the background of this ad? Those could be cool!”) and transforming them into something his team could create. He gave us the same attention as the higher end design build firms, and when the sketches were complete, the pricing didn’t make us swoon. Hooray!
After all was said and done, we knocked down a wall, covered the remaining space in creamy penny round tile, installed brand new cabinetry and shelving in sumptuous cherry and walnut stain, and tied it all together with some of the best lighting work I’ve ever seen. This isn’t to say we didn’t encounter issues---all renovation projects of this magnitude will. And here is my favorite thing by far about New Creations: They did us right in every possible way. They were accountable, ethical, fair, and NICE. I have had good and bad contractor experiences, and even with the good ones, I’m not sure I could say that so unabashedly. I am obsessed with my new kitchen—If you want to message me, I’m happy to talk to you in more detail about Roy and his colleagues.Read More
kitchen remodel – Both Roy and Troy were excellent communicators and very customer friendly. Our options were clearly presented with great advise every step of the way. Our kitchen turned out even better than we imagined. The price was fair, the job was completed on time, and best of all, there were no surprises. I highly recommend New Creations and we plan to use them again for our bathroom remodel.Read More
We began our search for a firm to remodel our kitchen/guest bathroom in December 2011. We first met with Roy Faust of New Creations in January 2012 and signed a contract with them in May 2012. Work started on May 13 and we did a final walk through with Roy on July 3. We are thrilled with the results and highly recommend New Creations. Roy worked very closely with us to get the design right and invested a considerably amount of his time with us before we formally committed to the project. Once we got started Troy managed the project and hit virtually project milestone as scheduled. Troy was very easy to work with and was very responsive to any questions or concerns we raised throughout the project. Roy and Troy make an excellent team. Trust and integrity were very important to us in selecting a firm to work with. New Creations exceeded our expectations and we genuinely liked working with them. We would also be remiss in not thanking Apollo for his attention to detail and the quality of his work. Also, James had many great ideas that we wouldn't have thought of as far as electrical and lighting. Manuel, head of the painting crew, was very quick and professional, even when we changed paint colors on him.
Even after our final walk-through, Roy, Troy, Apollo and crew have been great. A few touch ups needed to be done after they finished, and they never hesitated in getting someone out here. We have been in our kitchen for a about 6 weeks now and love it.
New creations is great at communicating with the client. I think 80% of issues are solved with communication. New Creations does that better than any other service company I have dealt with. They explain details, provide a compete estimate. and then communicate the schedule on line so you know who will be at the house and when they will install various items. Everyone we dealt with were complete professionals, listened to what we wanted and worked hard to provide us a beautiful custom kitchen and bath.
We are very happy with the work provided and will likely use them again for a master bath remodel.Read More
I love my new "spa -like" bathroom! The New Creations team did a wonderful job. The workers were professional, courteous and trustworthy. The area was always left clean and they paid attention to every detail. The project ran according to schedule and it turned out even better than I had envisioned. I would definitely hire Roy, Troy, and the New Creations team again!Read More
Great Service, Great Attitude – We used New Creations (Roy and team) to re-design and re-do our kitchen and breakfast area - we love the new look and the quality of the workmanship.
The team did everything well but really excel in the following areas (much better than I have previously experienced):
1) Customer Service. Roy is a fanatic about giving the customer what they want. If something is not just so, Roy will take care of it.
2) Project Management & Great Execution. It is clear that they are on top of the game. They communicate well via phone, in person, and email; but more importantly they drive themselves and their team proactively. They completely my kitchen re-model (complete demolition down to the studs to new beautiful kitchen in 8 weeks and 2 days.)
3) Great design ideas. Roy and team gave us some really great ideas about how to re-layout our kitchen (really creative). They make great suggestions but know how to do this while still leaving you in control of making it “your kitchen”.
4) High quality team. In particular, Roy’s sub-contractors for cabinets, electrical, and his catch all (jack-of-all trade) guy were world class. This is one of the key’s to me of New Creations and Roy’s success…..having great sub-contractors and then have a good working relationship with them .
5) Issue handling & resolution. Most remodels (I have done a few construction projects) will have a few issues come up. Roy’ team is excellent at addressing any issues that arise. Again, the customer service attitude is a keystone to Roy and he pushes it across to his sub-contractors – you can tell.
Overall, I think I am a pretty tough customer (son of a carpenter) and someone who likes things done “right”. Roy and team do it “right”!Read More
Remodeling done the RIGHT way. – In a day of many industry and service folks showing indifference and offering shrugged shoulders, these guys shine for listening, offering solutions, creativity, and problem solving when the scope of the project changes. They have assembled a vetted collection of trades people who know how to get the job done. The cabinets, in particular, are amongst some of the best made and beautifully crafted cabinets that I have seen. Solid wood with great detail to craftsmanship make them a joy to use and look at. The compliments from friends keep flowing about the remodel. Roy and I met and discussed the project and planning multiple times before starting and the cabinet manufacturer offered suggestions about the creation of unique wall that turned out to be a wonderful focal point that ties in wonderfully with the kitchen design. Troy's hands on detail to the project was also quite remarkable in managing the day to day scheduling and ensuring that things were on time and in place. In a remodel there are always going to be surprises, but the nice thing about dealing with these folks is that they become an ally for getting a solution in place as quickly and efficiently as possible. The end result has been a beautiful kitchen that greatly exceeds what I thought was possible for my space. You can't go wrong with having these guys manage your remodel if you want the piece of mind that things being done the right way with great attention to detail.Read More
Remodeling expert – The guys were great. Our kitchen is now fabulous.
It was a joy to work with Roy and his workers. I don't think I could have found a better team.Read More
We recently remodeled our master bathroom with New Creations, with Roy and Troy, and could not be happier with the outcome. As nervous newcomers to remodeling, I found Roy's straight-forward-tell-it-how-it-is style very refreshing. I was also pleasantly surprised and relieved that Roy did not try to "sell" additional things/services, but rather functioned as a guide and shared his experience with us if he thought it would benefit us in making a decision. Roy was extremely patient with our questions and concerns.
Troy managed the project with patience and grace, waited for inspectors, treated our home and our family with tremendous respect, listened carefully to any comments we had to make and took care of things in our home that weren't even part of our contract--he just offered to help!
Not sure you will find a better duo of honest, hard-working men to make your vision suddenly appear in your home. Can't wait for my next project to put them back to work. Highly recommended!Read More
A very talented, courteous and professional team! – I loved everything about my new home except for the tiny, dark, unattractive bathrooms. I contacted New Creations based on recommendations from two of my neighbors, and I couldn't be happier with the results! This was my first experience with a remodel and I really didn't know what to expect. Roy's and his sub-contractors worked with me every step of the way. They encouraged me to play a big part in the design process, and this hands-on involvement was an exciting and fulfilling experience. They really made me feel like I was part of the team, all the while helping me make smart decisions based on their prior experiences. In the end, their expert advice proved invaluable. Virtually every decision we made turned out to be the right choice. Prior to the remodel, my master bathroom was a depressingly dismal place. Now it's a joy just to be in this room. We knocked out an unnecessary dividing wall and removed the outdated tub and fixtures, then installed custom cabinets, new floor tiles, expertly textured walls, a beautiful new countertop with a vessel sink and a gorgeous, modern glass walled shower. In our guest bathroom we added new cabinet and drawer faces, countertop with vessel sink and new floor tiles, and finished it off with retextured walls and fresh paint throughout. To top it off, we added solar tubes to both bathrooms, making them so much brighter and more inviting. I'm very proud of my remodeled guest bathroom, but my master bath is simply a joy! It's my own little oasis/spa. A big thanks to Roy and his team for all their hard work. I recommend them whole-heartedly!Read More
A little let down – When I first met with the people at this firm I was very excited and ultimately chose to move forward with them.
As the project progressed, I became discouraged with the crew and with the follow up.
The designer Julia was ok, and is really nice, but I found her to be a bit patronizing when communicating what she wanted there was also a lack of follow through.
Overall I am satisfied with the project, but I can't shake a feeling let down.Read More
FULL Service Kitchen and Bath Contractors – My wife and I just finished a full blown "complete gut" custom remodel on our condo kitchen and master bath located in Tarrytown. The title says it all...these guys are a FULL service contractor and will do design, help you select materials, make color/pattern recommendations, write fixed bid quotes, manage subcontractors, and warrant the finished product. We are now enjoying the end result and get compliments on the remodel every time someone comes to the house. If we decided to sell the condo tomorrow, I think we would get back every penny spent.
Before you sign a thing, Roy will provide a detailed quotation and plans. I was relieved to get to the end of the project and owe exactly what was agreed to. We bid out the project and asked around and typically contractors don't have the ability to draw up detailed plans so you have to hire an architect for even the simplest cabinet design, which can be pricey. Not the case with New Creations.
This was the first time I went through a process like this and I have to say that while it was painful to live in a house with no kitchen and master bath, it was well worth the wait. With all the great compliments, there are some pain points that is characteristic of any remodel from what I hear. In some cases, attention to detail was overlooked in the design phase and the team had to make modifications on the fly. I would have liked to see those details worked out ahead of time. All I can say is ask tons of questions and review work often. If you see something that doesn't look right, speak up. That goes for any contractor.
Roy has built quite a system with New Creations and he has some great people working for him...Jeremy, you are the man. Would definitely recommend them and use them again on the next project.Read More
Our home was built in 1982. The primary purpose of our project was to completely remodel the kitchen to create a brighter more functional space and update all the appliances. A makeover of the adjacent dining room was also planned.
We have been through several small remodeling projects during 27 years in our home and neither of us relished the idea of trying to find suitable contractors or acting as project managers and on-site supervisors again.
New Creations Custom Kitchen and Bath solved that problem for us. We were impressed before our very first meeting when Roy Faust called us to say he would be ten minutes late and “would that be alright?”
New Creations is a high end custom remodeling company offering “turn key” kitchen and bath remodeling services. Their goal is to provide outstanding service and craftsmanship. They didn’t over sell, they did what they promised.
From the design process through tear down and construction, everyone involved with the project was professional and considerate of the fact they were working in our home. Since we live with twelve indoor only cats, that was of special importance to us.
In fact, being “cat resistant” was a major design concern for our kitchen. Roy spent a lot of time learning about our lifestyle as part of his design process. Unlike some designers, he does not try to force his vision on you, but rather tries to pull your ideas out and help you make the decisions.
He is not afraid to suggest bold ideas and if he doesn’t like something, he will tell you. He makes the design process collaborative and fun and is not afraid to consult with another designer to make something perfect.
A highly detailed approach to planning the project with the goal of having all materials on hand prior to starting is an important part of the company’s success. Taking that approach minimizes the risk of delay and allows the customer to see the chosen products before they are installed.
An on-site meeting with all contractors several weeks prior to the planned start date allowed us to meet each of them in person and gave them a chance to evaluate the workspace.
That meeting revealed we would need to upgrade our electric service for the cooktop and convection oven we planned to install and allowed plenty of time to have the work done prior to the project start date.
We were informed there would inevitably be problems along the way, but for us not to worry, they would solve the problems. Again, that is exactly what they did.
New Creations constantly tries to improve their process. Project manager, Troy Hester, was continually on site seeking solutions to every problem and soliciting our input.
The on line system used to schedule contractors and keep customers informed works well and Troy quickly responded to every email inquiry or phone call we made.
We can’t say enough about the craftsmen working for New Creations. Their focus was always on delivering a quality product and satisfying the customer. Compromises sometimes must be made because original house construction is rarely perfect. In fact, I’m not sure there is a square or plumb wall in our house!
However, through it all, Roy, Troy and everyone involved in our project went out of their way to make sure we were happy with the results. Working with New Creations was a marvelous experience. We would recommend them without hesitation. The completed kitchen is even better then we imagined it would be.Read More
I had always wanted to convert a large island in my kitchen to make part of it into a bar while leaving the other half at counter height. After seeing the fantastic work that New Creations did on a friend's bathroom re-model, I contacted Roy for a bid and eventually decided to go with them for the project. Troy did a great job managing every detail of the project, and their carpenter did an absolutely fantastic job with the cabinet work. Troy ran all around town finding tile to match the slate that was already down in my kitchen, and they were also able to find a great match for my granite counter tops. The completed job looks exactly the way I had envisioned it; New Creations did a great job every step of the way. I highly recommend them.Read More
